STATE COLLEGE, PA – NOVEMBER 21: Christian Hackenberg #14 of the Penn State Nittany Lions throws a pass in the second quarter against the Michigan Wolverines at Beaver Stadium on November 21, 2015 in State College, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Evan Habeeb/Getty Images)Christian Hackenberg never took a snap in two season with the New York Jets. He didn’t even make it to training camp with the Oakland Raiders.Oakland, which traded for the 2016 second-round pick on May 22, released the former Penn State quarterback today. He’d only been with the team three weeks.By dumping Hackenberg now, the Raiders are able to retain their conditional seventh-round pick.Source: the Raiders have waived QB Christian Hackenberg.— Field Yates (@FieldYates) June 12, 2018That was fast: The #Raiders have waived QB Christian Hackenberg, per the NFL’s transaction wire. That negates a trade from earlier this offseason. Oakland keeps its 7th round pick.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) June 12, 2018Hackenberg is already regarded as a colossal bust due to his draft status. In fairness to him, he probably was overdrafted by the Jets after struggling for most of his final two years at Penn State. In a league that is always looking for quarterback play, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Hackenberg got one more look. The odds of him having a career in the NFL don’t look good right now though.
The last away match of the regular season for Pick Szeged took place in Balatonfüred who are at the middle of the Hungarian League table. Fans have nicknamed this team ‘small Veszprém’ since they have very good connections with MKB and several former Veszprém players (Szatmári, goalkeeper coach of the national team, Ákos Kis, István Pásztor) are now in Balatonfüred. Their coach is former Veszprém left-back László Sótonyi.Pick Szeged had to be careful as they only managed to win by 1 goal last season while two years ago they were defeated in Balatonfüred. That is why the guests started the match at a fast pace and quickly gained a comfortable lead (11th minute 2-8), which they were able to keep until the end of the first half, thanks to great goals from Balogh (12-18). Szeged dominated the second half too, almost every player scored, defence was tight and Larholm scored from every penalty (6/6), so the match ended in a very confident victory for Pick Szeged (23-36).Pick Szeged will conclude the regular season on home ground against fourth-placed Tatabánya on Sunday and will start preparing for the play-off thereafter.Best scorers: Zdolik 10(4) / Larholm 8(6), Balogh 7, Sulc 5 Text: Gábor Várkonyi, Péter ButtyPhoto: www.szeged.hu ← Previous Story FTC VS Gyor – No losers, but someone falls down (VIDEO) Next Story → Crazy handball Harlem Shake world!
