Another back-and-forth pair of games pushed Arkansas State ahead by just five (784-779) heading into the fifth game. Up against the ropes, Vanderbilt took a second victory to pull the series to 3-2. The teams went nearly strike for strike down the stretch of game six and headed into the 10th frame with the score dead even.
